Re: Cylinders 1 and 4 not running

Hi Riley, this is what you need to remove and clean if you haven't already done so.

Re: Mafic's Nighthawk CB650sc Starting troubles

Hi Mafic, yes Folsoml is correct, a good carb cleaning is in order by the sounds of it. Make sure to remove your idle jets if they are the pressed in type or you will not solve your problem, do it right first time then hopefully you won't need to keep pulling the carbs.

Re: Cylinders 1 and 4 not running

Hi Riley, for a cylinder to fire you need spark, fuel and compression. If you have a good spark on all plugs, compression of 130 on all cylinders and it still won't run on all four, leads me to suspect that the fuel isn't getting through. You said that you, "sprayed fuel into the engine without...

Re: Cylinders 1 and 4 not running

Hi Riley, after you have started the bike then switched off have you pulled plugs 1 and 4 to check if they are wet with fuel? any signs that fuel is getting into the cylinder? What type of carbs are on your bike, slide or CV's. When you cleaned them did you remove the idle jets to get them properly ...

Folsoml, can they be seperated? They have a different outer cable on them, not sure if it is for strength or something electrickery. Nowt to lose by having a go at fixing them.

Re: No spark on cylinders 1/4 82' CB650sc

Well if you can't get any readings from the #1 and #4 pick up and you have done all of the other things that you said, I would assume that it is dead. Please correct me if I'm wrong but you've changed everything apart from the pick up's? to me, that would seem to be the problem and you will need a r...

Re: I’m back

Hi Dean and welcome back. I have found a good source of info for the slide carbs should you need it, any info is better than no info to me. Good luck with your new project :)

Re: No spark on cylinders 1/4 82' CB650sc

I know I don't have a gapping issue because of that but what else could it be? Getting nice blue spark out of the 2/3 but nothing from 1/4 Hi Bater, from your previous post it "appears" that you are assuming that your pick up gap is non adjustable, which isn't the case. The gaps are adjus...

Re: Antigravity Battery Question

That's a nice looking bike boogerwolf :) I use the plastic handle of a screwdriver to tap the bowls, it doesn't mark the castings. Hope you get it sorted before the Winter sets in.

Hi Riley, can I suggest that you start a new thread just to ease any confusion between posts. Also could you let us know some history of the bike and what you have already tried. Thanks :)

... or by turning the 22mm nut on the right hand side of the engine clockwise (gently as the 22mm nut is a dummy on a very thin shaft) I always recommend using the rotor bolt on the other side of the engine to do this--even though a clymer or similar manual recommends the 22mm nut.
