Re: 1981 cb650 seat trim. HELP!!

Did you ever find the trim? If not, I would suggest searching eBay for '1981 Honda CB650 seat'. There's usually a few. You may have to buy the whole seat to get the trim. Sometimes they can be had for cheap because of rips in the vinyl, but you don't care about that...

Re: Airbox and filter question

There are multiple ones available on Ebay right now. Is this a rhetorical question?

But... for the sake of your (rather silly) question.... I would study and take measurements of the stock box and fab up a new one.

Re: Airbox and filter question

You can usually find stock air boxes on eBay. That's what I would do. Personally, I don't think pods are worth the trouble.

Re: CARB problem tube hit

The most likely problem is that the #3 pressed-in pilot/idle jet is clogged. The hole in the jet is very very small. Time to clean the carbs, check the tank, and make sure you have a filter installed as well. If you've verified spark, and the valves are properly adjusted, I would definitely check th...

Thanks......

Make sure you route them correctly too, or even the right length cables will be short.

I don't know what the OP made the pads out of, but I would bet that is rubber floor runner that they sell by the foot at Home Depot.

Re: Choke Cable and Seat Grab Iron

I saw several seat grab bars for substantially cheaper than that on eBay. I pasted the link to just one of them below. The choke cables are quite reasonable too. Where are you located? http://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-CB650-CB-650-C-650C-CUSTOM-REAR-GRAB-RAIL-BAR-BUMPER-SEAT-FENDER-HANDLE-80-/281895502...

Re: GAS TANK CAP LOCK

Try spraying PB Blaster in the keyhole. Like a lot of it! Spray it multiple times over several days, then start to gently work the key back and forth. It may take quite a while and quite a few days of spraying. Is there fuel in the tank? If yes, remove the peacock and drain the tank. If the PB Blast...

Re: The easy way to get carbs back on.

What about the timing on dual/quad carbs? I have been told not to try to clean the carbs because getting the timing correct is very difficult. I am not mechanically inclined, but I can learn. How do you time the carbs once you put them back on? Or have I been misled. -Chuck Hey Chuck, rather than l...

A little Vaseline on the inside lip of the boots helps.

1980 Honda CB650C

Just finished all the work needed to get this bike back on the road. Craigslist find. It had been stored for many years. 8k original miles. It came with pictures of the bike in boxes (ugh!) so I knew it might need some reassembly work... No problem. That's fun for me. http://i359.photobucket.com/alb...
