Re: 1981 CB650z new engine. What will fit?

Any sohc 650 will fit. Biggest diff it the head/carb spacing. What carbs you have? should be cv's but have seen a 81 few Z's with the older style head/carbs. and after almost 40 years dont know what has been done to the bikes. Re: Gas tank for 1982 nighthawk?

Very hard to find. One year and only half of the 650's produced. Beware of what you get too. I have bought a couple off ebay "good" and was less than junk.

Re: Swingarm removal?

with any almost 40 year old vehicle any simple job can become difficult. Corrosion and previous owners are a big thing.
Ant it zirk is on the top of the swing arm. I think its on the bottom of my 360.

Re: New Cb650 project

Clean the tank and carbs see if it runs. Looks mostly complete. After that it depends on your intentions for it. Unless some one already did the topend gaskets it will start leaking. Looks like it has 900 F shocks on it.

Re: First bike, '83 CB650SC Nighthawk

welcome. This site is for the older sohc4 650's but still some knowledge here. A few of the dohc4 members here too.
It looks like the seat on your bike is off a older bike.

Re: no gas getting to the cylinders on 1980

the isle jets and emulsion tubes for the mains have small holes off to the sides so just poking through them wont get it all.

Those are just vent tubes that originally go to the airbox. Sounds like you floats might be stuck. Did you clean the carbs?

anything is possible. there is a neutral safety switch also. if your neutral lite is staying on that is likely your problem.

Re: Clutch safety switch

the neutral switch and oil press switch are both under the left side cover. Sounds like there might be a issue there or a pinched wire.
