Any bad experience with the kill switch?
Or why did you feel the need for a self-destruction in the tank cap? :lol:

Can you post more pictures of your batterybox under the swingarm? I'm trying to do the same thing. Where did you put the R/R and solenoid and other electronics?

No worries buddy, those pics are with the cap in the open position. Push the center down, give it a 1/4 turn and it locks down almost flush. The shell cases only stick up about 1/8" . That's lower than the original tank cap.

Got the valve spring remover tool in and I replaced the guide seals..

Guess this is not a very preferential location for the electric stuff.
If you consider to make a protection cover, consider the RR will require cooling!

There weren't many other options. Physically, the "electronics" are not fragile. If your concern is water, this will be a dry weather rider only.

Will it be a cold weather rider also? That RR will need some airflow to keep it cool otherwise. Once that RR burns up. You can expect the rotor, and igniters to follow shortly afterwards. Sounds like an expensive mistake to be cool!

Doesn't the stock location have the RR buried behind a side panel? How is this any worse since it's open to the air? I guess I could fab up a simple scoop to channel air around it if people think it will really be too hot here, certainly don't want to create problems for it....

You're right about the stock location of the rectifier. Yours should be fine. I made a new batt box for mine that had the battery sideways under the seat & attached everything to that. I had the rr on the side of it with no problems. Still had side covers. The bike looks killer man.

The side pane location is a very clean one without too much vorticity.
This is why it is a good place for the airbox opening at practically every motorcycle, too.
Having a look at my main stand and other stuff there, the front of rear wheel location is not a clean one.
So the finned surface will get covered with dirt soon and there start the problems.

Additionally the air behind a finned airhead engine typically is rather warm air.
